[Investigation of microcystin pollution on Dong Lake, Wuhan City]

Abstract

Objective: To investigate the level of pollution of microcystin and its changing in freshwater lake and fish.

Methods: Samples of freshwater and fish were collected from Dong Lake in Wuhan City. Samples were tested using ELISA.

Results: All freshwater samples collected in July and October contained blue-green algae and it had become the dominant species. For the same waterblooming lake, MC content was significantly lower in July than that in October (P < 0.05). MC content in fish muscle was significantly lower than that in liver (P < 0.05).
