Abstract

The place of antiarrhythmic drugs in the preventive treatment of the cardiac arrhythmias was recently revalued because of the improvement of the radiofrequency catheter ablation techniques and the growing place of the implantable cardioverter defibrillator. The choice of the antiarrhythmic treatment must always be based on the type of arrhythmia, the presence of a structural cardiopathy and the potential side effects of the antiarrhythmic drug.
