Abstract

Mineral elements K, Na, Ca, Mg, Fe and Zn in milk and milk products were extracted with boiling 1.0 mol x L(-1) hydrochloric acid and determined with atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). This procedure proved simple, safe and quick. The results obtained, either for liquid samples or for solid ones, were accurate, precise and comparable with those by dry ashing.
