Abstract

Purpose: To describe a surgical method of using connective tissue graft and bone graft harvested from implantation bed to restore the labial contour.

Methods: 102 ITI system implants were placed in 55 anterior maxilla, with connective tissue graft and bone graft harvested from implantation bed simultaneously. Suprastructure restorations were performed at least 6 weeks later, and the change of the labial contour was evaluated.

Results: The labial contour was greatly improved, and the esthetics around the implants were enhanced.

Conclusions: Using free connective tissue and bone graft harvested from implantation bed could achieve an esthetic outcome. It is cost-effective and deserves popularization. Supported by Research Fund (No.034119872) of Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality.
