Abstract

Mathematical simulation was used to study possible changes in the corneal curvature while making a corneal flap of varying thickness. It has been shown that flap formation can result in decreased corneal refraction in the central zone, the degree of which depends on the thickness of a section. The above changes may be marked if the cornea diminishes its strength properties (for example, in cicatricial changes).
