[A rare case of transitional cell carcinoma of the ileum segment arising 43 years after ureteroileocystoplasty due to tuberculous bladder atrophy]

Abstract

A 60-year-old woman visited our hospital complaining of fever up. She had undergone augmentation ileoplasty for tuberculous bladder atrophy 43 years age. Cystoscopy revealed a broadbased tumor on the ileal segment. Histopathological findings of the biopsy specimen demonstrated grade 3 transitional cell carcinoma. She was given 2 courses of chemotherapy (methotrexate, vincristine, adriamicin, cisplatin), but died of metastasis of carcinoma 4 months after diagnosis.
