[Gender-related differences in the course of ischaemic heart disease in women]

Abstract

Two cases of menopausal age women with acute coronary syndromes are presented. Clinical symptoms and diagnostic tests were similar for women and for men. Gender differences in angiographic lesion pathophysiology were found. The substrate for thrombosis in women was probably plaque erosion.
