Abstract

Oral anticoagulants are effective in prevention and treatment of thromboembolism, but despite refinements and standardization in their use, many problems remain for clinicians. Better knowledge of factors which influence pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of oral anticoagulants, an appropriate start and maintenance of therapy, the management of the over-anticoagulated and bleeding patients, can significantly improve the treatment effect of these drugs.
