Crosstalk triggered safety standby pacing associated with an improperly seated ventricular lead

Europace. 2008 Jan;10(1):75-6. doi: 10.1093/europace/eum250. Epub 2007 Nov 19.

Abstract

Ventricular Safety Standby (VSS) was designed to prevent the potentially serious consequences of crosstalk in many dual-chamber pulse generators. In this report, we describe a patient in whom the VSS was activated in a special way. When the VSS presents during bipolar sensing configuration, the clinician should notice the proper electrical contact between leads and pulse generator.
