Intraoperative breakage of needle driver jaw during robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy

Urology. 2008 Jan;71(1):168.e5-6. doi: 10.1016/j.urology.2007.09.052.

Abstract

Recently, increasing numbers of robotic-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (RALP) have been performed at many centers. During urethrovesical anastomosis in RALP, surgeons commonly use Large Needle Driver (Intuitive Surgical, Mountain View, Calif). In this study, we report a rare case with intraperitoneal breakage of the jaw of Large Needle Driver.
