FEMS Immunol Med Microbiol. 2009 Mar;55(2):237-9. doi: 10.1111/j.1574-695X.2008.00496.x. Epub 2008 Nov 21.

Abstract

Since recent studies suggested a role for Parachlamydia in atherosclerosis, we investigated 354 patients with or without atherosclerosis for Parachlamydia infection. Six patients exhibited anti-Parachlamydia IgG. No patient presented IgM. Parachlamydial DNA was not amplified from peripheral blood mononuclear cells. There was no association between atherosclerosis and Parachlamydia infection.
