Arterio-venous fistulas involving the uterus and lung

Int J Gynaecol Obstet. 1990 Jun;32(2):157-61. doi: 10.1016/0020-7292(90)90482-z.

Abstract

A case of arterio-venous fistulas (AVF) involving the uterus and lungs is described. A 57-year-old Japanese woman developed profuse uterine bleeding during endometrial curettage, and underwent emergency abdominal hysterectomy. Postoperatively, she complained of exertional dyspnea and palpitation. Pulmonary angiography revealed multiple AVFs in both lungs. The surgical resections of the lung lesions were performed and her pulmonary symptoms improved.
