Abstract

Objective: To investigate chemical constituents from acetyl acetate extract fraction of Incarvillea delavayi.

Method: The chemical constituents were isolated by chromatographic techniques with silica gel, Sephadex LH-20 and semipreparative HPLC. The structures of those compounds were identified by NMR and MS.

Result: Seven compounds were isolated from the EtOAC extract of I. delavayi and their structures were identified as leucoseceptoside A (1), martynoside (2), cornoside (3), edgeworthin (4), 1,2,4-trimethoxybenzene (5), protocatechuic acid (6) and 3-hydroxy-p-anisaldehyde (7) , respectively. Compounds 1-2 were phenylpropanoid glycosides.

Conclusion: Compounds 3, 4 were obtained from the genus Incarvillea for the first time. Compounds 1-2, 5-7 were first isolated from this plant.
