Transcatheter aortic valve implantation with "no touch" of the aortic arch for the treatment of severe aortic stenosis associated with complex aortic atherosclerosis

J Card Surg. 2010 Sep;25(5):501-3. doi: 10.1111/j.1540-8191.2010.01066.x.

Abstract

We present the case of an 80-year-old woman diagnosed with severe aortic stenosis and complex aortic atherosclerotic plaques who underwent transapical TAVI guided by transesophageal echocardiography and fluoroscopy with no catheter/wire manipulation across the aortic arch to avoid any systemic embolism.
