Aberrant left coronary artery, modified unroofing technique, and patch angioplasty

J Card Surg. 2010 Sep;25(5):508-10. doi: 10.1111/j.1540-8191.2010.01101.x.

Abstract

Background: We present a case of surgical correction of an aberrant left coronary artery arising from the right sinus of Valsalva.

Method: In order to prevent stenosis and kinking of the neo-ostium, modified unroofing technique was combined with patch angioplasty.

Results: The clinical outcome was excellent with complete preservation of ventricular function, resolution of angina, and absence of aortic regurgitation.

Conclusion: Addition of patch angioplasty to the unroofing technique improves outcome.
