Abstract

The title complex, [Au(2)(C(17)H(11)N)(2)(C(12)H(10)P)]ClO(4)·C(2)H(3)N, contains two Au(III) atoms bridged by a diphenyl-phosphanide ligand. Each Au atom is in a square-planar environment coordinated by diphenyl-phosphanide and 2,6-diphenyl-pyridine ligands. There are weak π-π stacking inter-actions between neighbouring mol-ecules (the inter-planar separations between two neighbouring dpp units are 3.40 and 3.57 Å). The intra-molecular Au⋯Au separation is 3.788 (5) Å. The crystal structure shows weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O and C-H⋯N hydrogen bonds involving an O atom of the perchlorate counter-ion and the N atom of the acetonitrile solvent mol-ecule, respectively.
