Protein analysis by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry

Nucleic Acids Symp Ser. 1990:(22):25-6.

Abstract

The applicability of electrospray ionization (ESI) mass spectrometry to protein analyses has been studied. The molecular weight of hen egg lysozyme (HEL) was determined with an accuracy of +/- 2 u. The choice of solvents and additives in sample preparations was important to achieve high sensitivity as well as high precision of molecular weight measurements.
