Denaturing protein immunoprecipitation from yeast

CSH Protoc. 2007 Jan 1:2007:pdb.prot4643. doi: 10.1101/pdb.prot4643.

Abstract

INTRODUCTIONWhere possible, it is preferable to use denaturing IPs to recover labeled proteins from pulse-chase experiments. The use of denaturing IPs reduces background and simplifies protein harvest. Yeast are boiled in an SDS-containing solution to liberate total proteins. This is also much safer than bead-beating radioactive yeast samples.
