Abstract

The criteria for admitting elderly people to intensive care are dependent on a number of factors, relating to the patients, the organisation of the hospital and the characteristics of the intensive care staff.This article assesses the current situation in a context where longer life expectancy is resulting in an increase in the number of elderly patients.
