Successful treatment with L-asparaginase-based regimen for primary pulmonary NK/T cell lymphoma: a case report and review of the literature

Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the treatment of primary pulmonary NK/T cell lymphoma.

Method: A case report and review of the literature. The tissue material was obtained by transbronchial biopsy, and the diagnosis was confirmed by pathology. He received five cycles of chemotherapy with L-asparaginase-based regimen.

Result: He remained complete remission for 2 years following the initial diagnosis.

Conclusion: Primary pulmonary NK/T cell lymphoma is an aggressive disease. It is usually associated with poor outcome in the literature. L-asparaginase based regimen was effective for our newly diagnosed patient.
