Abstract
Objective:
To isolate and determine chemical constituents from twig and leaf of Juniperus sabina.
Methods:
Five compounds were isolated and purified by extraction and different kinds of column chromatography. The structures were determined on the basis of the physicochemical properties and spectral analysis.
Results:
The structures were elucidated as quercetin-3-O-(6"-O-acetyl)-beta-D-glucopyranoside(1), hypolaetin-7-O-beta-D-glucopyranoside(2), isoquercetin(3),4-epi-abietic acid(4), beta-sitosterol(5).
Conclusion:
Compounds 1-3 are obtained from Juniperus genus for the first time.
