Abstract

Purpose: To report a case of bifocal malignant melanoma of the choroid in a 1.5-year-old child.

Method: Case report.

Results: Fundus examination showed bifocal malignant melanoma of the choroid with secondary retinal detachment. Histopathology confirmed malignant melanoma of the choroid, mixed cell type.

Conclusion: Malignant melanoma in an infant, though rare, should be kept in mind in differential diagnosis of pigmented intraocular mass.
