The use of the flexible ureteroscope in the Stamey urethropexy

J Urol. 1989 Dec;142(6):1532. doi: 10.1016/s0022-5347(17)39151-6.

Abstract

Stamey endoscopic suspension of the bladder neck is a reliable technique for treatment of female urinary stress incontinence; however, inadvertent passage of the suture into the bladder lumen must be recognized by the surgeon. The use of a flexible ureteroscope through a suprapubic sheath allows for continuous visualization of the bladder lumen during passage of the needles, and achieves greater control and facility in performing the procedure.
