Abstract

Ever-changing factors dictate susceptibility to injury in football, including weather and ground conditions (hard, muddy, frosty, slippery, sand covered ground), and the time of the season--overuse injuries in late season, acute sprains earlier. A combination effect ensures that match risk factors are never the same. Muscle tears and knee injuries are among the commonest injuries encountered.
