Abstract
Two different immunohistochemical double labelling techniques have allowed the demonstration of a GABA-immunoreactivity in the dopamine amacrine cells of the rat retina. The functional implications of such a colocalization are of importance because antagonist effects of these two neurotransmitters on retinal horizontal cells have been demonstrated.
