Abstract

Metabolic activity of cells within a neurovascular unit is among the factors determining structural and functional integritY of the blood-brain barrier and the an- giogenesis process. in order to verify the hypothesis about the role Of g1YcolYtic activity in the perivascula astroglialcells associated with lactate release in the development of functioning of cerebral microvessel endothelial cells, we have used a three-component model of the brain neurovascular unit in vitro.
