Abstract

Pertussis is an acute infectious disease that occurs with a chronic, extremely tiring paroxysmal cough. The interest of pertussis observed among clinicians, epidemiologists and public health specialists around the world caused from the fact that despite well-known mechanisms of disease pathogenesis, epidemic process and prevention methods, the disease still "surprises" with the increasing number of cases. Medical literature provides new data demonstrating the dynamically changing epidemiological situation of this disease. So far, few studies have been carried out to assess the effectiveness of Polish whole-cell vaccine. The following study is an attempt to answer the question whether pertussis occurs more common in people vaccinated against pertussis with the DTwP or DTaP vaccine?

Keywords: vaccination; DTaP; DTwP; immunity; pertussis.
