[Pay attention to the quality of evidence research for appropriate evaluation of the treatment trail of the non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy]

Non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) is the most common cause of acute optic neuropathy in people aged 50 and above. The precise mechanism of NAION remains unclear and no consistently effective treatment, either medical or surgical method, for NAION has been identified. Thus, further study of the pathogenesis, higher research level of the treatment trail and the effective neuroprotective approaches are of significant importance for the treatment of NAION.
