Celebrate World Health Day: Nursing and Global Health

J Contin Educ Nurs. 2019 Apr 1;50(4):145-147. doi: 10.3928/00220124-20190319-02.

Abstract

In our increasingly connected world, global health impacts us all. Infectious diseases travel; climate change exacerbates health issues at home and abroad; and we can learn from other places how to provide better health care-at lower cost-with improved health outcomes. As nurse educators and administrators of nursing education, we can play a key role in learning and teaching about global health. Celebrating World Health Day reminds us that we each need to do our part to improve the health of communities, locally to globally, and this article offers concrete suggestions of how we can do so.
