Recurrent multiple chorioangiomas and intrauterine death

Pathology. 1988 Jan;20(1):77-8. doi: 10.3109/00313028809085204.

Abstract

A 35-year-old woman delivered a macerated fetus at 29-week gestation. The placenta was hydropic and showed multiple chorioangiomas. The woman had a pregnancy which ended similarly five years earlier. Postmortem examination of the fetuses showed cardiomegaly. Recurrent fetal death associated with multiple chorioangiomas is extremely rare and may be a manifestation of an underlying chromosomal aberration.
