Case: We are reporting on the x-ray and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) follow-up of an 8-year-old boy who underwent transphyseal anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction with a 4-strand semitendinosus tendon graft. His graft was followed for 5 years by MRI, demonstrating a satisfactory but slow and gradual ligamentization process.
Conclusion: The long-term MRI follow-up demonstrated the satisfactory outcome of the transphyseal reconstruction, although with a slower and more progressive ligamentization process than in adult patients.
