Abstract

The title coordination polymer, [Co(N₃)₂(C₉H₈N₂)] _n , was synthesized solvothermally. The Co^II atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral [CoN₆] coordination geometry with a bidentate 8-amino-quinoline ligand and four azide ligands. Bridging azide ligands result in chains extending along [100]. N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds join the chains to give an extended structure with sheets parallel to (002).
