Argon laser phototherapy of superficial transitional cell carcinoma of the bladder

J Urol. 1984 Apr;131(4):655-6. doi: 10.1016/s0022-5347(17)50560-1.

Abstract

An argon laser was used to treat 11 patients with known superficial transitional cell bladder tumors. Effective destruction of existing lesions occurred in all patients and practical advantages over conventional treatment have been observed. Argon laser phototherapy of bladder cancer is safe and effective but the superficial effects of argon energy limit its use to patients with small tumors or carcinoma in situ.
