Adenoid basal cell carcinoma of the vulva

Int J Gynecol Pathol. 1982;1(3):299-306. doi: 10.1097/00004347-198203000-00007.

Abstract

Two cases of a subtype of basal cell carcinoma--the adenoid basal cell type--occurring in the vulva, are described. These lesions are frequently misdiagnosed as adenoid cystic carcinomas of the Bartholin's gland because of their histologic appearance. Their characteristic presentation, histology, and prognosis warrant their differentiation.
