Comparison of suture materials in the pancreas

Acta Chir Acad Sci Hung. 1982;23(4):209-16.

Abstract

Comparative tests were performed in animal experiments with traditional and new suture materials placed into the pancreas. Dexon and polyester caused the least tissue reaction and their reaction indices were the most favourable. These threads therefore appear the most suitable for making sutures in the pancreas.
