Survey of 336 deaf students for retinitis pigmentosa

Abstract

At the California School for the Deaf, Riverside, 336 deaf students were surveyed for coexistence of retinitis pigmentosa. Five of the 336 were felt to have Usher's syndrome. The most common cause of deafness was maternal rubella. Electroretinograms of the rubella group were normal.
