Abstract

Introduction: The author presents a new technic for treatment of trochanteric fractures in 29 elderly patients.

Materials and methods: Following closed reduction, external stabilization of the fractures is performed percutaneously using 6 metal pins assembled by a bridge of methyl methacrylate bone cement.

Conclusion: This easy, particularly non traumatic and economical technic has permitted the treatment of trochanteric fractures in elderly patients with encouraging results.
