[Effectiveness of and tolerance to pravastatin in the short-term treatment of primary hypercholesterolemia]

Abstract

In this study, 9 patients with primary hypercholesterolemia were treated with pravastatin. They received a daily dose of 20 mg for 12 weeks. Results showed a significant reduction in total and LDL cholesterol, whereas no significant difference was observed in HDL and triglyceride levels after treatment. No adverse effects were observed.
