[Clinical use of the diffractive multifocal intraocular lens]

Abstract

18 patients aged 66.8 +/- 12.9 years were implanted monocular 3M diffractive multifocal IOLs and followed up 4-23 months. The mean uncorrected distant visual acuity at the 3rd month postoperative was 4.83 +/- 0.12 (13/20) and 4.90 +/- 0.07 (6/7.5) for the near. The average distant and near visual acuity with distant correction were 5.05 +/- 0.10 (21.2/20) and 4.96 +/- 0.07 (6/6.7) respectively, the pseudoaccommodation being 6.00D. There were no serious discomforts.
