Abstract
Five girls with multiple pituitary insufficiency and atrichia pubis, aged 14 to 22 years, were instructed to apply 5% testosterone undecanoate cream on the pubic area twice daily. Pubic hair development became noticeable between days 15 and 20 of treatment; after 4 months the pubic hair density was at Tanner stage II to III. Testosterone blood levels did not increase. This treatment corrects an aesthetic problem, which is of great concern to adolescents with pituitary insufficiency.
