A sample of 27 schizophrenic outpatients, who were or had been in maintenance therapy with clozapine, were studied for the last 2 years, in an open clinical trial. Two groups were followed: group 1-with low maintenance doses of clozapine, and with a concomitant neuroleptic therapy, and group 2-where clozapine was switched to classical neuroleptics. Therapy strategies in group 1 have been significantly more effective than those in group 2.
