Intractable meningitis and intracranial abscess following sinusitis due to Candida species

Abstract

We report intractable meningitis and intracranial abscess in a diabetic patient, arising from sphenoid sinusitis and osteomyelitis caused by Candida species. Magnetic resonance images (MRI) revealed the sinusitis and osteomyelitis with direct invasion of the sellar region and clivus, subsequently intracranial abscess.
