Prof. Maria Luisa Cristina is currently working as a Professor of Hygiene at the Department of Health Sciences, University of Genoa, Italy. She was head of the Research Unit of PRIN Projects funded by MIUR (PRIN 2007, PRIN 2009) and scientific head of the University Project 2013. She serves as a member of the SItI and of the restricted board of the GISIO (Italian Hospital Hygiene Study Group) working group of the Italian Society of Hygiene (SItI), of the French Society of Hospital Hygiene, of the EUPHA (European Public Health Association), of the ESCMID (European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases), and of the ESGLI (ESCMID Study Group for Legionella Infections). Her research topics mainly include medicine; environmental science; immunology; and microbiology.
