Yongzhi Wang was born in Mulan, Heilongjiang Province, China, in 1974. He received a B.S. degree in computer science from Changchun Technology University, Changchun, Jilin, in 1999 and a Ph.D. in geo-exploration science and technology from Jilin University, Changchun, Jilin, in 2008. From 2009 to 2015, he was an associate professor of geo-exploration and information, Jilin University. From 2008 to 2011, Dr. Wang was postdoctoral in geological resource and engineering at Peking University. Since 2016, Mr. Wang has been a full professor at the College of Geo-exploration Science and Technology, Jilin University, China. According to his interdisciplinary education background, his research interests include the development and application of integrating artificial intelligence, big data, and cloud computing with geologic issues. He is good at processing, analyzing, and mining geoscience data. He is a member of the International Association for Mathematical Geosciences (IAMG) and the Commission for the Management and Application of Geoscience Information (CGI). He has been awarded Chinese national awards eight times in the geoscience information field.
