Dr. Marcos Edel Martinez-Montero is a Senior Researcher @Marcosem1967 at Bioplantas Center (www.bioplantas.cu) and a Full Professor at University of Ciego de Avila (www.unica.cu, Cuba). He has over 30 years of experience with research in the cryobionomics of plants for long-term germplasm conservation. In general, he is interested in studying the connections between stability (genetic and phenotypic), and cryogenic/non-cryogenic factors to help in the optimization, improvement, and validation of protocols for cryopreservation (seeds of tobacco, beans, wild tomato, maize, soybeans, sorghum, forages; in vitro apexes for sugarcane, pineapple, grape, guava). He is a Full Member of the Cuban Academy of Sciences.
