Kolhapur: The Western Railways has still not extended the Kolhapur-Ahmedabad express train to the Rajkot railway station, despite promising the same on Feb 16 this year.
Umesh Shah, a member of the Railway Passenger Association from Sangli, said, “The Kolhapur-Ahmedabad express train departs from Kolhapur every Saturday at 1.25 pm and arrives at Ahmedabad on Sunday at 7.40 am.

On its return journey, the train departs from Ahmedabad at 9:10 pm on Sunday and reaches Kolhapur the next day at 2:40 pm on Monday. The notification for this train expansion was issued last year, and then the press release was issued in Feb 2024, but the train extension is only on paper.”
Harish Jadhav, a passenger from Kolhapur, said, “I have to travel to Rajkot for industrial machinery purposes. Kolhapur-Rajkot direct connectivity would have brought a lot of ease to the railway passengers.”
