Kozhikode: Ten more persons including close relatives of the 24-year-old youth from Thiruvali panchayat in Malappuram who had died of Nipah have tested negative for the virus.
Health minister Veena George said it is a matter of relief that the deceased youth's close relatives, who were his bystanders at the hospital, and a doctor who had treated him have tested negative.

Meanwhile, 11 more persons were included in the contact list of the Nipah victim on Wednesday. Five of them are in the high-risk category.
George, who chaired a review meeting, said that of the 266 persons on the contact list of the Nipah victim, 81 were health workers. There are 176 persons on the primary contact list and 90 in the secondary contact list. As many as 133 persons on the primary contact list are in the high-risk category.
Two persons were admitted to the Manjeri medical college hospital with symptoms on Wednesday, taking the total number of admitted persons to six. As many as 21 persons are admitted at the MES Medical College Hospital, Perinthalmanna.
Meanwhile, the ongoing field survey covered 1,044 more houses on Wednesday taking the total number of houses surveyed to 7,953. Nineteen fever cases were reported on Wednesday.
