Mentally unstable woman gangraped, deaf-mute sexually assaulted , minor impregnated

RAIPUR: A mentally disabled woman was gangraped, another speech and hearing impaired woman was raped in Sakti and Raigarh districts of Chhattisgarh while a minor girl who was raped in May, was reported four-month pregnant, followed by arrests of all the accused.
Three youths in their early twenties who were under the influence of alcohol and were relatives of the mentally disabled woman, spotted her near a pond in Basantpurvillage of Dabhra region in Sakti district.Accused Botalal Mali, Ganesh Mali, and Madan Mali — taking advantage of her health condition talked to her and eventually took her to a secluded house and took turns to rape her.
It was when the children playing outside sensed that suspicious activity was going on, they informed the locals and people rushed to rescue the woman. By the time they reached, two accused had fled the spot and one was sexually assaulting the woman.
According to an eye-witness, the villagers looked out for the three accused and they were caught on Tuesday morning when the locals thrash them before handing them over to police.
According to the villagers, the accused were uncles of the victim and two of the accused are into manufacturing country-made liquor. When caught, the three were in heavily intoxicated.
One of the villagers said that the illegal liquor trade in the region was booming and people of all age consume alcohol and it is easily available. Villagers alleged that the accused were also involved in theft, gambling too.
Sakti SP Ankita Sharma said that all the three accused have been arrested and police will try to take the matter to fast track court for punishment at the earliest.
All the accused are married and have families.
Kondagaon
In another incident in Dhanora region of Kondagaondistrict, police have arrested a man accused of raping a 16-year-old girl on March 31 and May 5. The accused was identified as Sadauram alias Vishal Mandavi after the case was reported to police on Sep 1 by the survivor’s mother.
The survivor couldn’t dare to inform her parents about the incident until she got pregnant and it started showing in fourth month of pregnancy, when the parents spoke to her.
The girl narrated her ordeal that it was during a wedding ceremony when Mandavi called her outside the wedding venue to a bushy area and forced himself into her. Later, he lured her for taking her out on a bike on May 5 taking her, he raped her again.
Mandavi was booked under sections of BNS and POCSO Act and Kondagaon SP Y Akshay Kumar constituted a team to nab the accused, followed by his arrest.
Raigarh
Another 29-year-old woman who is mute and deaf was raped by a man in Raigarh district. The incident took place on Sunday when the man saw her working in the backyard of her house and he groped and raped her.
The survivor who lives with her brother reported the matter on Tuesday and based on a report filed by Kotraroad police, Santosh Vishwakarma, 39, was arrested.
