Exclusive! Om Baraiya recalls the year 2021 and wishes for a great year ahead

Om Baraiya is among the most celebrated actors in the Gujarati entertainment industry who has received lots of appreciation from the industry in the year 2021. And now he has exclusively unveiled his plans for 2022 with ETimes, as well as his pleasant memories of the year 2021.
How did you cope with 2021?
In the year 2021, the first thing I ensured was to get 'vaccinated'.It is extremely necessary to take the vaccine to prevent any more damage by the pandemic. I have been making sure to wear a mask too and take utmost care in every way. Mumbai has been very specific about preventive measures owing to the active steps taken by BMC. It was a tough year though but I am grateful for what I have prayed for what we lost, and wish for a better year.
People experienced another lockdown phase this year. What was your go-to task while being at home?
In January, I shifted to Mumbai for my coaching in Anupam Kher Actor Prepares. After two months of my classes, the lockdown was imposed. Then I returned home and shot for two album songs. So, yeah that’s how my year has been summed up.
Digital space has been a major source of entertainment for all while at home. Whose social media account did you start following for the content?
I started following RJ Abhinav’s social media account. There is no rethinking on that part as I genuinely love his content a lot.
With the start of a new year, what is that one thing you are going to miss about 2021?
I will definitely miss my coaching experience at Anupam Kher Actor Prepares. We had a lot of fun while learning a lot of important things. We explored a lot and there is so much to cherish from the days I spent there.
Which is your favorite movie or web series of 2021?
Out of all the content that I saw in 2021, whether it be web series, films, short movies, or shows, ‘Pushpa’ rules the top spot among my favorites. It is a recently released Tollywood film and it is truly a masterpiece in all aspects.
People love watching their favorite shows/movies on a loop. Was there any such show/movie you kept watching in the loop this year? If yes then which one?
I am more of a person who likes to keep exploring new content. So, I didn’t actually watch any movie or web series in a loop.
With so many restrictions being in place, what is that one project that you were a part of this year and you are super proud of?
I am really proud of the final act that I performed in Actor Prepares. I myself wrote and created the scene, the character I played was also built by me and I directed the whole act too. This makes me extremely proud that I could successfully build and play such a role.
Are there any new projects you are working on in 2022?
Yes, I am working on projects and 'Ghoomariyu 2.0' with Twinkal Patel is going to be released in January 2022. We received a lot of love in the first version of the release and I am very grateful and overwhelmed by that fact. I am looking forward to fans’ reactions to my upcoming projects too.
We all had a tough year. What are the top 3 things that you wish do not exist in 2022?
I pray hard and truly wish that Pandemic must not exist anymore. Only a pandemic is the thing I wish doesn’t exist in the year 2022. Enough lives lost, enough damage done.
