Abstract
Wake-induced oscillations affect bundled conductors of horizontal transmission lines exposed to strong crosswinds.
It is shown how the nonlinear partial differential equations of motion could be recast by Ritz-Galerkin method and
modal truncation, in form of an ordinary differential equation. This evolution equation is analysed qualitatively,
attention being paid to bifurcations which occur as the control parameter wind velocity is varied.
